Barcelona or Lisbon?

I have promised to send dh off for a week for his birthday in August. He wants to go to one or the other but doesn't know which to choose. Any preferences?

Right it's all booked. Flights and hotel in central barcelona, 16th-20th august, £349. He better enjoy it

Less chance of him complaining when I go to Prague as well

I take it he's going with friends? Barcelona's lovely. Have flown into Lisbon Airport which is in central Lisbon and that looks lovely too. Depends on what sort of holiday he wants I suppose! Is he into culture?

awww . I'd say Barcelona then, only cos I don't know Lisbon! At least he'll have the best of both worlds with the beach/city

Barcelona is gorgeous, does he like architecture, and art, and beaches, god i love it, it is a little peice of heaven.
Don't know about Lisbon, but surely it is a good time to go, it will be all smart and prepared still after the football.
What is it he is looking for in a holiday?

Only been to Barcelona. Barcelona has loads of English tourists - would he see that as an attraction or offputting. Barcelona is fab - great architecture, great beach, great parks, great food, great shopping. I'ld thoroughly recommend it.

Dh worked in Madrid for 7 months, and loved it. He isn't into beaches though. He told me to tell you he wants, food, booze and babes

Defnitely not Lisbon. I think it's a bit of a dump (sorry to all Portugese or Lisbonphiles out there).
Both have good football, Barcelona has better food. Not sure about babes - wasn't looking - but they'll be wearing less in Barcelona given the beach.
