Portugal next July

We are a family who normally camp in the U.K, but want to venture abroad next summer, however we are clueless as to how to start ! Like the idea of Portugal, and some privacy so villa I guess rather than hotel. Any recommendations as to where , who to book villa with , flights of villa booked first ??

I use tripadvisor for villa rentals.

I find a flight - but dont book it yet - then confirm with the villa that it has availability. They will then hold it for 24 hours while you confirm the flight. Then book the villa, ususally a deposit and pay on arrival in local currency.

Ive also used villarentals, owners abroad, ownersdirect and had a few problems with communication and once they double booked. Used TripAdvisor 5 times and never had a problem.
