Silly question probably but what's a 'hideaway bed' exactly?

Going to the Tenby area and for various reasons haven't been able to actually book our holiday until now, which unfortunately means that most of the places I would choose are booked up! Have found an apartment which looks nice but says the 2nd bedroom has a 'fully sprung hideaway bed'. So do you think its one of those that disappears into the wall (in which case what's the chance of my very bouncy 6 yr old shooting it back up a la one of those comedy farces!!!) or will it be like a sofa type thing (in which case wouldn't it say 'sofa'?). Hmmmmm

I'd guess it's one of those that slides underneath a single bed.

Like this (but it could be a wall one, I guess).

Thank Jackieno, have just gone back to re-read blurb and it actually says 'fully sprung hideaway double bed'?

maybe a single with another single hidden underneath that pulls out to make a double?

or just one that folds up?

Yes - we have one where the underneath bed is on long legs, so when you put it up it's at the same height as the other one, to make it a double bed. Could well be that sort.

So they're quite safe then?

Well ours is fine - the ILs sleep on it when they come to stay - neither of them are lightweights, to put it mildly. They haven't complained about it, either.

Hope it turns out OK.
