Like Puerto Pollensa but...different

Other destinations in Europe like Pollensa/Puerto Pollensa..?

Would really like to not have to rent a car and be able to use taxis for airport transfers instead. Villa with pool probably the best option (one too many kids for comfortable hotel stays..). Reliable weather (but not tooo hot), can walk to beach, grocery shops, restaurants.

Any ideas? Puerto Pollensa has been a great destination but feel the need for something new next year...

I like nerja and stayed in a great 6 person villa through www.menyber.com

What time of year are you going?

SandSnakeOfDorne · 03/09/2017 18:46

Malta?

School 6 week summer hols.... off to look at Malta and Nerja now - thank you!

I have always dismissed Portugal for beach hols (dying to go on a kids free break to Lisbon or Porto or both of course..!) because windy/cold sea, am I right?

Tavira in Portugal is lovely. Lots of nice villas, sea is very cold though.

Moraira in Spain lovely as well.

I've never found anywhere in Europe that I like as much as Puerto Pollensa. My DDs are teenager now so we tend to be a bit more adventurous and travel around or go further afield.

As mentioned above Tavira is very nice, great beaches, lovely town but you are right the sea is very cold. Lagos in Portugal is also very nice. I also like Estapona in Spain but none of these quite live up to PP. I might just been because we had some wonderful times in PP.

People suggested Cala D'Or but personally I wasn't so keen.

Can you recommend anywhere specific in Puerto pollensa? We have always gone to palma nova, lovely place, but we think we should do different.
2 adults and either 1 or 2 16 year old boys,
Got to have a pool, be near beach and restaurants and shops.
Really need ideas!!
Thanks

I really loved Formentera, which is the island off Ibiza. You have to get a ferry across (which was easy and fun actually!) but then there's a good infrastructure of bars/restaurants/taxis etc to cater for lots of tourists.

Actually forget all that, I want to keep it a secret from everybody so it's just MINE!
