Hi - we are thinking about going in October and are looking at \link{http://www.jardinsdolago.com/this hotel} and this one

Has anybody been to eitherof them. My concern about the first one is that it might be too high in the hills and therefore too cold in winter.

All replies gratefully reveived.

TIA

Can't help with specifics as I went to Maderia pre children by yacht in Feb. Lovely island and I seem to remember is was pleasantly warm although we did have a little rain.

madeira has one of the best climates all year round, it is an island really of 'microclimates'- the north/east of the island will have the worse weather over all but still not horrendous- have you ever been to the north of Tenerife or Gran Canaria? it like that, tends to be more cloudy as opposed to sunny. The avg temp for Oct will be around 20/24 degress. Funchal has the best weather all year round.

Just looked at your links-both properties are in Funchal- so the weather will be fine.

Thanks to both of you. I have booked the first one
