2 hours in Paris - what shall I do? (Near Gare du Nord)

I have a train changeover in a couple of weeks time, leaving me with two hours spare time in Paris (prob 1hr30, realistically, so I have fret-free-breathing-space).

What would you recommend - staying closeish to Gare du Nord?

Go for a walk around the Canal St Martin - lovely area, and nice bars and cafes to chill in.

Oh and if you do head in that direction call into Du Pain Et Des Idees - the most amazing bakery.

I recommended this the other day so I'll copy it here for you.

Little India/Little Jaffna is in the Gare du Nord neighbourhood, centred around Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis. It's my favourite. It's a mixture of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Indian and Sri Lankan stores and restaurants. It has incredible fabric stores, excellent food at Saravanaa Bhavan, and Ganesha Sweets on Rue Perdonnet is absolutely fantastic. The area is great for asian fruits, vegetables and spices. There are some interesting temples too. It's a nice atmosphere.
