Mijas/Nerja

We want to go somewhere for some warmth at half term, can get cheap flights to Malaga.

A couple of people have suggested Nerja/Mijas. Any thoughts on which one?

We need accommodation for 2 adults, 2 kids, and want to be able to walk to restaurants, not take the car.

Will hire a car for supermarket, days out etc, so could drive to beach, but don't want to be too far out of town. Can anyone recommend any villas?

We are just back from Nerja. It's a gorgeous town with stunning sea and mountain views. However, there are issues with sea water cleanliness. If you google burriana and sewage you will see what is going on. It has put us off returning.

Oh no what a shame about nerja, I agree it is lovely. However, we have stayed in benalmadena the past two October half terms as it is really easy to get to malaga on the train and lots to do if the weather is not good enough for the beach. Yoy can get the bus to Mijas

Oops, sent too soon. Meant to say you can get a bus to Mijas from Benalmadena, or the train further along the coast in that direction.
