I fancy a break there for Christmas, preferably highlands. Done anyone have any suggestions as to where to stay?

Hotel, self catering, city or countryside? Just yourself, or dp and/or dc?

Oh it is just me on my lonesome. So some activities would be nice. Country would be lovely but if on my own it would need some activities. Maybe city better but would look at either.

Have a look at Perth (small city, "gateway to the highlands") or Inverness, if you want highlands, but the tourist industry is fairly sparse in winter unless you ski. Edinburgh and Glasgow both offer more, with fairly easy access to countryside, but they're not highlands.

We stayed here www.killiecrankiehotel.co.uk/christmasnew-year-breaks/ one year. Loved it!

I'd say Inverness. Nice and central for a lot of trips. Plus Inverness is beautiful. You might get snow too.
