Yesterday morning dd and I booked holiday for dh and myself.
It may seem trivial but he has been in hospital a few times quite seriously ill since June. GP said it fine to go.
We will be away for 30th wedding anniversary and my birthday. We have had a lot of problems for a while .
Dh wants us to go as usual. The only thing is with booking so late it was a bit more expensive than normal and hard to get accommodation.
Still booked it is . Dh just needs to sort medical insurance.
Hoping it will be ok.

Where are you off to?

Primrose06 · 31/08/2017 22:11

Lanzarote. We find it relaxing and pretty flat.
Sunshine and beach and relax after the year we have had.
I dread to think what dh medical insurance will be given this past few months. But dr says he can go . So go we are. It is been a rough while lately.

Glad you've got hols booked -sounds like you could all do with and enjoy a break.

Insurance - strongly suggest you Google ' Martin Lewis travel insurance pre -existing conditions'( sorry can't link from here). Lots of useful info.
Nationwide's travel insurance included with a bank account has the reputation of being useful where there's pre-owned existing- even recommended to me by a broker who ,of course, can't sell it.

Best wishes for a lovely holiday.

Sorry, pre-existing conditions, not pre-owned.

I made a list of companies that cover pre exsising medical conditions.
He only phoned jet 2 and was chappy with £70 given his health we find it acceptable.
We have used them before and are quite reasonable , many of the companies who specialise cost much more.
Enjoying a few days without the adult kids. We sent them on a short break for their birthdays.

I love lanzarote! Where are you staying Grin

Primrose06 · 06/09/2017 20:39

Puerto del Carmen. We fell in love with it when we took a bus there while staying in Arricef . Gp had mentioned to dh he was going and worried about it and we had been before and dh was able to advise usefully. Gp had said that was where they were staying so we bussed it to check it out and fell in love with it.
We wiil be there for 30 anniversary and my birthday.
