Where in April with kids

We have to go over the Easter hols. We're really keen on Disney Orlando but it is very expensive over Easter.

So I looked at Thailand, which I am keen on but then read a weather report suggesting that it's unbearably hot in April. Maybe koh samui is a bit cooler?

Now considering Mexico cancun. But don't know it at all. Which bits? All inclusive?

Any other suggestions. We have a 3 and 6 year old so no where with malaria or too high risk of tummy bugs etc.

I went to Thailand last April (krabi) and it was lovely, but a few thunderstorms. Singapore is lovely at that time of year but you wouldn't want to spend your whole holidays there

Most of Thailand is always hot. It just might be wet hot or dry hot depending on which coast and what season. It's a beautiful country and the people are so friendly.

It wasn't too hot yellow? Any recommendation for area in koh samui?

Caribbean
Perfect in spring!

Ooh where in Caribbean? Can you fly direct?

We did California at Easter this year, based mostly in San Diego but drove up to LA (only two hours) for Disney there. San Diego has an amazing zoo, lots of museums, Legoland close by, really beautiful beaches and chilled, laid back vibe also manky Seaworld if you're interested. Temp was around 25c, perfect for us!

Flights were reasonable enough actually, around £400 each for direct flights to San Diego. Disney was of course extortionate, but is at any time of year. Good luck deciding, lovely dilemma to have Smile

Oh sorry forgot massive dripfeed (prepares to be flamed!): we took kids out of school (KS1) one day early which saved us £200 each on the flight price. School were supportive, everyone happy.

North Vietnam. I took my family three years running in April (living in the region, escaping the heat). It has a lot to offer. Is it interesting for you? (My kids are nearly 8 and 3).

If you were interested in Disney/Universal I'd definitely look at California. Air New Zealand have some great prices on direct flights to LA.

If you combine with heading south on the coast (towards/including San Diego) I think you'd get decent weather.

Could also be a good time to do Las Vegas/Grand Canyon/Bryce/Zion etc. Might not be too warm but would avoid going during the summer heat.

Ooh both those options sounds good. I'll investigate. Where would you fly to in Vietnam?

Hanoi for Vietnam. You want north and central at that time of year not south - south is really hot. Take a look at flights, if it looks good PM me and I'll send you some details.
