Hi all
Have looked at previous threads and sorrento not many people's best choice -too busy commercial etc. However we are visiting for a few days in oct half term so wondered what the best choice might be that time of year. We don't want too busy ( eg cruise ship overload was mentioned) but don't know how / if it calms down at that time of year and other areas would be too quiet. Basically we would like a similar area to be based in with plenty of restuarants to walk to

For things to do have noted Capri, amalfi coast etc but again not sure if these are the same atmosphere to do late October

All help grateful receive fed
Thanks

Pompeii and Herculaneum, but take some really comfy shoes. Boat trips are really weather dependent, so you may not want to visit Capri.

I walked the coast from Sorrento to Salerno a few Octobers back, from memory went to Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Amalfi, Bomerano. Got a ferry from Sorrento to Positano to walk 'il sentiero degli dei' - amazing. Also the bus ride down famous wiggly road is definitely memorable!

We went 10 years ago and stayed at a small hotel near Sorrento called Il Nido which was nice and had a lovely restaurant Terrace overlooking the bay of Naples, amazing home cooked food.

Herculaneum and Pompeii good, best to pay for a guide to make sense of what you're looking at.
