sorry to be so dull, but has anyone gone to barcelona via girona?
and if so is it a reasonably easy trip to barcelona from there?
Kif · 17/07/2004 01:36
Dunno. But note that Girona has no train station, and (a couple of years ago) no buses, so we had to get a cab to the city.
xoz · 17/07/2004 01:48
Haven't been to Girona , but if you're flying Ryanair or Easyjet (can't remember which one flies there) their websites have links to info about the airports they fly to, including how to get to/from by train, coach, etc. We recently came back from Trieste in Italy and found that getting to the airport was no problem at all.
spacemonkey · 17/07/2004 01:51
yes it's ryanair, i'll check out their website for more info on transfers, but i know it's an hour from barca so a taxi would be a bit pricey i reckon
DelGirl · 17/07/2004 01:57
Evening SM! I flew to Girona in March. There public transport is pretty good and ryanait have their own coaches I think and i'm almost certain they'd have one to Barcelona
spacemonkey · 17/07/2004 01:58
i'm an idiot, all the info is on the ryanair website as you rightly said xoz!
loads of buses and trains to barca, takes about an hour
is the descent into girona very steep?
Kif · 17/07/2004 02:06
Eh? Sounds like things have got better. Magic of Ryanair I s'pose. Sorry fo rmisleading info.
spacemonkey · 17/07/2004 02:08
hellooo delgirl, was the descent very steep?
dp is a nervous flyer
DelGirl · 17/07/2004 02:22
I don't remember the flight being out of the ordinary.. sorry, not much help! If it had of been a steep descent I think my ears would've hurt and I think I would've remembered that.

we flew through ryanair to girona and the flight was fine you will need to arange transfers though but its not realy that long a journey we went through barcelona to get to santa susanna and it took about 30 minuites to get to barcelona

Hi spacemonkey - I did this route. We stayed overnight in Girona and got a train next morning in Barcelona - no problems. Got train. Girona itself is worth lookig at back to Girona and ryanair transfer to airport. Lucky you, want to go back.
