Ok, so this is proving harder than expected. 6 of us (4dc, 2 with a tendency to get filthy), travelling by car so limited space- can't take a roof box. 4 stop holiday- France, Black Forest, Austria and Italy- so need to pack for a variety of weather, over 2.5 weeks. Also need to take bedding/ towels. With space at a premium, what do we actually need clotheswise? And what else (mobile homes/ preerected tents)

As little as possible Smile Relax, if you are camping you won't need much and a bit of dirt wont matter.

Check that all the campsites have a launderette, pack a box of washing powder and stock up on 1 euro coins. A couple of big 'bags for life' as laundry bags. Put a wash on, buy bread and pastries, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, return to laundrette to shove everything in the tumble dryer, have another coffee. Fold and re-pack. Repeat every few days. Laundry isn't a chore when the sun is shining.

We've done this type of holiday a lot in the past. Each person had a bag for life to pack into, plus one for towels (microfiber travel towels) and one for bedding. The bags are quite squishy so easy to pack the car.
