Villas in France

Does anyone know of a reputable holiday rental company at the quality end of the villa market? We want to go to Normandy, and the company we normally use hasn't anything suitable . There are six of us - we'd want a pool, spacious grounds, NO villa complexes etc. Thanks !

We've used Just France which has some nice villas. Some are "Créme de la Crème" -- extra special. They were v. good and good quality.

When are you looking to go and how long for Wanderingstar?

wanderingstar · 29/03/2007 17:15

August for 2 weeks. Probably left it a bit late; I know the really nice places go quickly...

Think you could have a real problem finding somewhere nice.
Our villa was fully booked for the school hols by the end of January and most of it was gone by November last year.
Have you sifted through Owners Direct?
Good luck!

Had a quick look at owners direct earlier but didn't have time to look properly ? Have you used them ?

We should have done this earlier...normally if we do this kind of trip I have it sorted (as you wisely say) by Christmas...

We have used them and we advertise our villa with them. It is even harder when you are looking for a 'nice' villa as opposed to an average holiday house type thing. Are you restricted to school holidays only?

Afraid so...and oldest ds (13) goes back very promptly at the end of Aug., so we can't even use the 1st week of Sept "slack" which the younger ones have.

Actually just unearthed something that looks too good to be true. Heated pool, 1 hr from caen, a CHATEAU in 125 acres...searched under my preferred dates and came up as available. Maybe we won't go for it but it shows there are still possibilities !

Where's your villa btw (just to be nosy !)

It looks great and since it's your own, you've done all the right things to make it childproof. Yes, maybe another time. You have been so helpful; thanks.
