Spain with a 2.5 year old

We've booked our first family holiday. Our son is a VERY independent and active 2.5 year old and we're worrying we've made a terrible mistake!

What are your tips for holidays with a toddler? We chose Spain as it got us out of the country but is generally kid friendly and late night so if his sleep is messed up we can take him out. We're staying in Airbnb. Thanks!

Beach. Find a gently shelving sandy one so he can pootle in the shallows. We normally make some sort of big sand construction with a slide. If your place has access to a pool, splash around in that as much as possible.

Top tips-

Lower your standards and go with the flow.

Buy a nice bucket and space set for the beach/pool when you arrive.

Have a parent on duty while the other relaxes now and again.

Get a back float rather than water wings/arm bands as they are much freer to
wear.

Encourage a siesta and have big sunshade for the pushchair.

You'll have a lovey time!

Lots of small playgrounds near the beaches - we are just back from Salou and lots of different areas for children along the beach - so you can go there mornings/evenings too. Siesta is essential!

Lots of small novelties for the plane, or a Netflix binge if you're happy to let him.
