France for the day - newhaven - Dieppe

We live pretty close to newhaven and have never used the ferry. If we went for a day or two I wouldn't want to venture too far from Dieppe but is there anything nice to do there/ near there?

Usually do either St Malo or calais.

Isn't it a bit far for a day-trip - or even an overnight - it's a 4-hr crossing, isn't it? Or have they got Seacats or something there now?

(I don't know anything about Dieppe, sorry - we used that crossing once but didn't hang around!)

There used to be a Hoverspeed service which took 2 hours but that appears to have been discontinued

Inf about Dieppe anyway

There is an English market there this Saturday, lol - cheeses and chutney and whatnot
