Has anyone been to this hotel and can recommend? We're looking for a really good family all inclusive with a short flight.

Me me!!!! We're going there again this summer and we went in 2013, we loved it!! It's very clean & modern, food good, great for kids. Downsides are all pools are very deep so you have to really watch the kids and the little pool with the slides is separate from the main pool so you have to go up there and supervise but me & DH often took it in turns which gives the other person a nice break! It's also really big, so there are lots of people but it's geared up for it, absolutely loads of sunbeds etc. If you're looking for a quiet holiday this is not for you but it's certainly not busy in a rowdy way at all. It's really lovely there, is definitely recommend it! We paid £2100 for the end of august for 4 of us by booking with Ryanair and the hotel directly, it was £4100 with Thomson so definitely look around a bit!

Thanks for the response SM. I've looked at 10 nights in 2018 summer hols and it is £4,400 with Thomson, if booked direct with the hotel it is £2,900 plus cost of the flights with Veuling. (probably about £700 for the four of us). Your price is amazing! When did you book your room?

Ages ago!! Probably just before Christmas, we're only going for a week, the hotel was just under £1500 and the flights were £601 on Ryanair as they'd just been released.

SnowiestMountain · 09/08/2017 16:41

My kids are 4 & 6 though, I think once the kids were over 7 it was quite a bit more Sad

Coconutspongexo · 09/08/2017 16:45

I'm going the first week in June next year after many recommendations from friends and reading trip advisor! My son will only be 2 and a half but it'll be a nice break and shouldn't be too busy. Ours is £3,450 4 adults 1 child with Thomsons.

I've read the reviews saying that it's too busy during the last week of July/first week in August.

JoeSamJack · 09/08/2017 16:46

I have a 4 year old and 11 year old. Did you pay a deposit for your room or the whole cost upfront? If I can pay a deposit I'll book soon.

OP posts:
Coconutspongexo · 09/08/2017 16:47

I paid a deposit of £79pp

SnowiestMountain · 09/08/2017 16:48

I think you can pay I deposit but I just paid the whole lot - go if you can!

JoeSamJack · 09/08/2017 17:15

Highly recommend the Protur Bonaire in Majorca-Cala Bona, just been for a week AI & cubs liked it so much we only spent 20 euro as they didn't want to leave the hotel!

SnowiestMountain · 09/08/2017 18:44

I looked at that one too Joe, it looks lovely!

Nix32 · 10/08/2017 20:34

We've just had a week at Hotel Globales Bouganvilla - same area as the Protur. Slightly further away from the beach but has a great water park on site that would be fab for your 11 year old. 4 year old probably too small for big slides (120cm height restriction) but there are still plenty of things to occupy them.

JoeSamJack · 11/08/2017 11:30

I think I'll book something in the next couple of weeks. I looked at a private villas and flights (much cheaper than hotel) but I wouldn't have the kids entertainment and would probably end up spending my time cooking and cleaning!

The Bonaire can only be booked through Thomson so that keeps the cost up. I think all these protur hotels are really only suited for younger children so whilst your 4 yr old would love it, the 11 yr old not so much.

We have just booked a cheeky 4 day break at the bouganvilla for October half term as it was only £100 more than booking a s/c apartment for all inclusive plus my kids one any only holiday request is water slides (they are 10 and 6).

JoeSamJack · 11/08/2017 18:04

Will the water park be operating in October? My kids love them too.

OP posts:
Hersetta427 · 11/08/2017 18:23

Yes the waterpark is fully open as it is only for hotel guests so if the hotel is open then the slides are open. I am assuming the hotel closes for the season on 31/10.

Coconutspongexo · 11/08/2017 19:23

The waster park is only open until Sept according to Thomsons

Coconutspongexo · 11/08/2017 19:23

Water

Hersetta427 · 11/08/2017 20:06

For the globales bouganvilla? We booked with first choice which doesn't mention anything like that and looking back on trip advisor from last October all mention using the slides.

Hersetta427 · 11/08/2017 20:48

The la reserve water park which belongs to the protur group does close in October but not the one which is exclusively for globales bouganvilla guests.

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 14/08/2017 14:46

Any packing tips please? What do people wear in the evening? We are off soon! Snowy mountain you got a very good deal!

Hersetta427 · 14/08/2017 15:13

Shorts and tees for the kids. Husband wears long denim shorts and a shirt or tee, I wear a maxi dress or linen cropped trousers and a vest top. We are off to Rhodes in 2 days. It is very hot at the moment. Was in Spain 10 days ago and it was almost 40 degrees.

sortingmyselfoutslowly · 14/08/2017 16:20

Wow 40 degrees!! Thanks for the info. Have a lovely holiday Hersetta427 and anyone else heading off.

SnowiestMountain · 14/08/2017 17:33

Nice casual 'holiday' clothes, shorts/t-shirts, jersey dresses etc for kids, similar for us too actually! Yes a bargain hey?! Grin
