The Algarve: Will there be any food shops open on Good Friday?

Due to BA being absolute pillocks, we are now arriving at Faro at 8.30pm on the Thursday before Good Friday (instead of the nice afternoon flight we'd actually booked). We're staying in Caroveiro - does anyone know if there will be anything open on Good Friday? Will we starve???

bumpity bump - or do you want me to sneak a suitcase of cheesestrings through customs?

don't kow at all but I do knopw that when I was there at the beginning of Lent once, they had a huge party for Mardi Gras (pancake day) but I couldn't find Mass o the next day (Ash Wednesday) anywhere - gives me the impression that they probably won't care too much about Good Friday either but don't wuote me on that.
I'm sure if it's a resort type of place they'll be somwhere open

Have fun

I think there will be probably a least one shop open even on Good Friday but maybe only in the morning. I know of a couple of small supermarkets further west that will definately be open so imagine that will be the same in carvoeiro

Have a look on www.carvoeiro.com - that might have the answer to your question.
