Fun 1 night stopover bet Brighton and Wales

We are driving from Brighton to Aberdovey for a week of camping. On the drive back, we stop in Bristol for a night. Any fun recommendations of somewhere to stay on the way there? DC are nearly 5 & 7.

Birmingham is about half way - Cadbury World?

What scale of stop? Half hour run around? We often stop at Likey Hills Country Park for a run around on the way between Leeds and Somerset.

Thanks for that - I was thinking an overnight stay, arrive early evening , set off again in the morning - but am flexible about that
