Please just tell me where to go on holiday

I'm so fed up of searching and second-guessing myself.

Budget is £500pp or thereabouts. Two adults. We like pretty places, nice food, and sitting by the sea with a drink. We don't really want to faff with long transfers or car hire, just want to land and relax.

Dates mid-September!

Vilamoura in Portugal is lovely.

How do you get there AntagonyAunt , is it quite near an airport? :)

Alghero on Sardinia. Lots hotels on Expedia in your price range. The town has a beach, a bit of history, the people are really friendly & the airport is max 20mins away.

Sorry, yes it's about half an hour or so from the airport. You would need to book a shuttle or just get an uber from the airport but no need for car hire as shops, restaurants, bars, hotels are just off the marina which has lovely stretches of beach either side.

I've been looking at hotel and flight separate for preveza/lefkada - looks stunning- you'll get something lovely for £500pp

Lanzarote. Ticks all boxes and it's still warm.

Skiathos is a good choice. This place is a 15 minute taxi drive from the airport & just 5-10 min stroll from a good sandy beach. Tavernas within 5 mins. There is a good bus service on the island too.

Cavtat in Croatia. Fly to Dubrovnik, short transfer. And easy to get to Dubrovnik for a day out.

Ps went in September a few years ago and was lovely and warm.
