Anyone needed assistance with a walking disability at Gatwick airport recently?

My teenage dd fell down the stairs last night. She is now on crutches and unable to walk very well.
We fly long haul from Gatwick on Monday.
Can anyone give me any advice on what to expect at the airport.

I can see on the Gatwick website that I can book assistance.
I will contact them today, we are flying with BA.
Should I also contact Trailfinders who we made the booking through?

Contact BA and the airport to book assistance- they will put your dd in a wheelchair to go through security and take her to the plane in the wheelchair/ 'little train' that you see going round airports. They are v good and she won't need to worry about walking at all. Hope you enjoy your holiday

Thanks. I did call trailfinders and the woman said she will request assistance.
Do you think I need to contact BA also ?

You will need to contact Trailfinders asap; the more notice you give them now the better.

This is also a helpful link re special assistance at Gatwick airport:-
