Edinburgh tattoo

Hi all
Travelling with my wife on Monday 14th August to Edinburgh to spend a full day in city then watch the tattoo in the evening.
Would love some advise on where I can just park our car and head off for the day without worring.
Any help would be appreciated.

Castle Terrace Carpark would be ideal, and you can prebook for a reasonable(ish) rate!

There are several free park and rides on the edge of town. Which direction are you coming from? The Tattoo finishes at 10.40pm ish so still plenty buses running if you are leaving straight after.

I am performing in the Tattoo that night. It's a fab show but be warned that it can be seriously freezing on the Esplanade.

Depends where you are coming from. Park and ride is at the Airport. You can park for free and jump onto the tram into Town.

Park and ride is available at Hermiston and you can then get bus into town.

You could park closer so murrayfield or roseburn and walk in.

Closest for the castle is castle terrace carpark but that will be about £30 to park for the day.
