Received EXCELLENT advice from Mumsnet posters when we visited London/Broadstair/Leeds and York last year. Much appreciated - especially about sticky toffee.
Now, 12 yo son and I are headed to Portugal, August 16, and I understand a lot of British folks either vacation there or - well, it seems to have a heavy British influence especially around Oporto (Porto?). So, I thought maybe ...
We will be in Lisbon - driving up and staying in Coimbra - and then to Porto.
What's it like? What is the best food? It looks like it is not hot, hot (temp-wise) in August - is that correct (I.e., skirt or pants)? We like history, nature, and good food.
(I would return to Yorkshire just for the Yorkshire pudding. Plus York Minster - that was awesome. Also quite enjoyed boat ride from Pew Gardens back to London center. And, the beach at Broadstairs.)
Thank you for any tips you might provide.
