October half term sun

Hi hoping for advice please. Looking to (finally!) book our first proper sun type holiday. DS are 9 and 11. Telegraph recommends Costa del Sol or algarve or Crete. I've only ever really been to Corfu as a child, then city breaks with DH. As a family we've had mostly Tenby breaks, plus one trip to stay with my mum in Italy.

We'd like sun, nice beach, not too touristy. Probably looking at airbnb. Any advice gratefully received!

Algarve a bit hit and miss then. I would head for the Canaries

Lanzarote! Go to Playa Blanca and the surrounding villages as they are so quiet and very family friendly.

Canaries, just to relatively safe about the weather. They are touristy but that doesn't have to be bad thing. La Gomera is quite though. In regards to airbnb please also see this article to avoid a nasty surprise:

I live in the Algarve, oct half term isn't the best time to visit - it could be lovely or it could be showery, def taking a chance
