We're interested in the same sort of thing Leander, and I've been doing a little research. The best thing I've found so far is a magazine entitled 'Holiday Villas' (from WHSmith etc), which have masses of private villas in Orlando to rent. Some are private lets, others are thru independent travel companies. They are really reasonably priced - much less say than booking thru a travel agent - their two bed villas are supposed to sleep six (two in each bedroom, two in pull outs in lounge!), so we end up paying massive supplements for a decent bit of space - to me two bed sleeps us three!

Hello leander, we are off to Florida on Tues and are staying in a private villa with a pool. After mum research we came across a website www.travel2 florida.co.uk and booked ours though there. I will let you know how we get on. Really efficient company, very pleasant when you speak to them aswell.

Try to avoid staying in Kissimee, it's miles from the parks and it will take you 30 minutes to get to Disney and International Drive and Sea World are even further. Try to stay in Lake Buena Vista (does cost a bit more) as you'll spend so much less time travelling up and down the 192. The roadworks in Kissimee have been going on for over 2 years now it's a complete pain. R
