What type of holiday is best for both toddler and parents? I´ve tken my lo on a few holidays but none have been really successful, either nothing much for her to do or for us to do as parents, so no one has been particularly happy.

We have tried all sorts too and the most successful ones for us have been holidays where my parents come too (we get on very well and my husband is like a son to them) and then we hire a lovely villa.
That way, we get some time alone so that they get some time with the grandchildren, we all do things together and enjoy mucking in, villa cost is split so a luxury villa is affordable, we always get a spacious property so we are not in each other's pockets etc. All put money in kitty and split everything.
Hotels are awful - sharing rooms, creeping about in silence in dark etc!

Yes, I thought this could be the solution (pleased it worked for u). Only problem is we would have to pay for gps to come along so this is getting very expensive.

Wouldn't they be prepared to split the cost of the villa 67% to you and 33% to them? They are getting a holiday too!
The first time we did it, we sold it to my parents easily as a great chance to spend quality time with our DC. They were thrilled and agreed there and then. As it happened, we agreed that we'd choose and pay for the villa that year and then everyone paid their own flights and then the next year, they chose and paid for the villa. We have done that ever since.

I´m afraid the gps don´t have any money whatsoever so we would have to pay for absolutely everything..

When and where you would want to go? What is your budget? Would you be prepared to fly / drive etc? In UK? Abroad?

we love camping in france - in a 3 bed mobile home of course!!! There is so much for the LOs to do, all very family and child orientated, great pools, scenery, activities, cheap if you can go out of season and sociable!! You can choose a big busy site or a smaller quiet one. We love it! We tend to go to Brittany or the Vendee and go with French Life so we can use our Tesco vouchers to pay for it!! It really si a break - kids get worn out in the pool and on beaches etc all day, BBQ at the mobile in the evening then drink wine with new friends or drink wine and chat to dh, or drink wine and read a book (get the picture??!!) in the evenings.
