October half term - where is warm apart from Canaries

Looking for a warm break in October half term, dc will be 4 & 1. They love swimming so needs to be warm enough to swim (most hotels seem to have unheated pools). Preferably not long haul. I know the obvious choice weather-wise is the canaries, but our last trip there was underwhelming. We love Greece but don't think it would be warm enough for swimming in late October. Maybe southern Spain or Sicily would be ok? Any other ideas gratefully received!

Portugal's still very comfortably warm at that time. More and more hotels seem to be hearing pools these days so you should get something. The Algarve is very child friendly

Turkey we went in October and it was 27 degrees.

We're off to southern Greece. Apparently the sea is lovely and warm at that time of year. First time we've done a sunshine break in that half term so we'll see.

Thanks, never been to Portugal so that would be something new

Me too, thank you! We've been all over and I think the Greek islands take some beating - the scenery, people and food are all amazing Smile

As far as I know the travel advisory is only for places near the Syria border which aren't really tourist destinations anyway.
