European city break with 3 year old - where to go?

DH, DD and I are planning a long weekend somewhere in October. We want to stay in a 2 bedroom apartment so she can have her own room. Where would you recommend? I've been to Oslo, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Venice, Brussels and Dubrovnik but all before having a child. Of these my favourites were Venice and Dubrovnik. Which city would you recommend for 3/4 nights?

We loved Barcelona with DD when she was just 2. She's 3.5 now and still talks about the cable car, parks and our aparkment Grin.

Lisbon? Bruges? Ljubliana?

Barcelona was fab with a 3 year old - Venice (with cobbles bridges and canals) would be a nightmare with a buggy and small child.

Brussels fun with a 2 year old and v compact too. Amsterdam was great with a 2 year old also - the zoo there is one of the best city zoos I have ever seen. Didnt rate Paris much when there when DS1 was 1.

Nuremberg is good for children. Excellent zoo, several child-friendly museums (the train museum has an amazing play area), planetarium with children's shows. The Playmobil funpark is just outside the city, and is brilliant.

We're going to Munich with DS in October when he will be 3.11.

Innsbruck - cable cars, zoo, and lots of cake
