I've booked flights to Brussels for last week in August and wondered if anyone had stayed in rental accomodation in lilsebergen site. It looks great actually I have 3 sons aged 15 9 & 7 and we've been to Duinrell De Kempervennen and Beekse Bergen before. This summer I'd love to go to De Elfteling as a day trip and also to Ghent. Our budget is lean and Lilsebergen seems to tick all boxes we love cycling. Any tips?

We spent a week there August 2015 in our own tent. Excellent value for money. Not sure what their own accommodation is like.

The play areas and man made lake are great. Turnhout is close by for supermarkets. It's a pleasant little town for a stroll. We found a fabulous hand made chocolate shop there. Weather was mixed on our visit, 3 fabulous days were we hung out on the camp site swimming, hired a pedalo, kids played and scooted. Also visited Brussels and Antwerp by train (there is a small station close by where you can park for free or go from Turnhout), and also Eindhoven (for DH to visit the DAF museum as he is a car nerd).

Only downsides are traffic noise from the main road and the campsite shop is rubbish. You can order bread, croissants etc for collection the next morning.

Kids loved it so much we are staying nearby and doing a day trip on the way to Duinrell next month. We didn't visit Efteling (doing that next month) but it's not that far away.

We didn't cycle but pretty much everyone else did. Loads of great cycle paths on the site and around.
