Mojacar advice

BatmansPrettierSidekick · 23/07/2017 17:02

I have seen Mojacar come up on a place in the sun programme a dew times.

I know there appears to be two areas, Mojacar pueblo (hilly whitewashed village) and the Mojacar playa (coastal resort).

I'm looking for advice on where to stay and advice on what each area is like?

Thanks

It's nothing Special, we went a few years ago and it's not that nice. There are better places

Oh dear that's a shame- it all looks so lovely on the telly.

I agree; go somewhere else! So much of Spain is beautiful, not so much that bit. If you want a whitewashed hilltop town google Gaucin in Andalusia.

We're not far from there atm in Cortijo Grande - the mountain near Turre. It's incredible. We've been a few times so know which beaches to hit or avoid! Mojacar playa is like loads in Spain but there are some other gorgeous beaches to tempt you😎

Thanks Brockie where's the best area to stay? Any hotel recommendations?

Enjoy your trip

We've never stayed in hotels here - we've gone for villa with pool - exclusivevillas in turre and/or ownersdirect and home and away are ones we've used before. We like to cook so always go for that option. A nice beach is San Juan de los terreros & we aim to get there early by 9 to get a good spot then leave 1ish as it's blinking hot! Vera beach is also great!

There's also beach the kids call the fish beach, hence we don't know what it's actually called! It's on the way to San Juan, has rocks & nothing but locals so mostly quiet. If you're keen to know I'll fid out...
