Best hotel? Region? Beaches?

This won't go down well - Mumsnet isn't a massive fan of Turkey

I am though. Marmaris is like the Magaluf of Turkey, Bodrum & Gumbet are quieter and lovely

Kusadasi is nice too

I've been all over - depends what you're looking for? Lively? Family? Trip with friends? Culture?

I'm a Marmaris fan. The people are generally lovely, food is fantastic, alcohol is cheap, weather is beautiful and the actual resort is very pretty. Lots to do - village trips, water sports/parks, jeep safari, horse riding etc

Avoid Altinkum full of places showing Sky Sports and serving full English breakfast.

Happy see I'm quite happy with Sky Sports and the odd UK breakfast to cure the hangover 🙈

Turkish breakfast is a must though..absolutely beautiful

Looking for a family resort, but somewhere within walking distance of a village, no clubs/nightlife. Have a child so a hotel with water slides, good All Inc but not isolated. Went to Alanya last time but hotel was in the middle of nowhere

Cirali might suit. It is about an hour's drive from Antalya. The village is low key with controlled development, the beach is sandy, and you might even see turtles. There are lots of little restaurants serving local food and it's popular with families. You can walk from outside the village up to the hillside an hour’s walk north of the village centre to the Chimaera, flames spurting out from the rocks.
On the Aegean coast, Alaçati and Çesme are pretty, formerly Greek, villages that attract a wealthier Turkish crowd.

Olu Deniz and Bodrum both bloody lovely!

tadpole73 · 23/07/2017 20:06

Thanks all
Think I've decided on Olu Deniz. Any recommendations on hotels?

My favourite part of Turkey is the Bodrum Peninsula but Olu Deniz is nice too :)
