Where to eat near Gatwick?

We will be staying in a Gatwick hotel as we have an early flight. Rather than eat in the hotel or airport, I was thinking of eating somewhere away from the airport. We can take a train or a taxi there. I know there is a Cote and in Horsham but was looking for alternatives.

Wabi in Horsham if you like Japanese food (and cocktails!) though I haven't been in a few years

South Lodge Hotel in Horsham is very good. Restaurant Tristan also in Horsham has a Michelin Star if you want relaxed fine dining.

Or you can take the train from the airport down to Brighton in 20 minutes or so. There's loads of choice there but favourites include: Sams, The Chili Pickle, Terre a terre, the ginger pig/dog...

There are loads of excellent restaurants in Crawley (5mins). Lemongrass Thai restaurant is exceptional & Wildwood is fabulous too. No need to travel out any further.

There's about 5 McDonalds in Crawley. What more could you want? Wink
