We are in Bolgona & can travel tomorrow....Florence or Ferrara? I have 13yr daughter who just goes along but would one suit better than other? It is very hot and no air tho Bologna been not so bad (Modena horrendous yesterday)....either better for that reason?
I wouldn't want to be queuing for anything and need something not too exhausting.
Thanks,
Lisa

Oh, thank goodness. Thought it was a baby name thread!
I loved Florence, but it wasn't at this time of year, admittedly. Have no direct experience of Ferrara, but have been told it's beautiful and less touristy.

Are you looking for somewhere to stay or just a day trip? What about Fiesole? Very easy and overlooks beautiful Florence. I can recommend about 3 hotels. Nothing like having a swim whilst overlooking the whole of Florence below!
Otherwise Ferrara. Not Florence. She can do that for her GCSE art trip/ gap year.
