Days out in Wales (north)?

We (dd's and I ) are going to Wales for the first time, we are planing a trip to snowdonia for one of the days but need ideas for the other days.
Dd1 is 13, dd2 is 11 but both have ASD and some joint problems, they like quite places, wildlife, castles etc...

We are staying near Powys (think that's how it's spelt).

Conwy is lovely and there is a nice castle there. I think there is butterfly/ wildlife park nearby too. There is also the mountain zoo in the area

Conwy is lovely.

The pier at Llandudno is worth a visit, as is the great orme which has a tram and cable cars.

The mountain zoo is in colwyn bay.

Powys castle is really nice too.
