The Yorvik experience is great as is the York museum. That will easily fill your time!

Has Jorvik reopened now?

We only live an hour from York and visit regularly. The Castle Museum is as interesting for children as it is for adults. DD also loved York Minster at age 8. The National Railway Museum is a must IMO, and has the bonus of being free, and wandering down the old streets and seeing the street artists and buskers is very entertaining.

DD's favourite shop is the Fudge Kitchen. You can watch them making fudge and then buy some.

I love York.

Jorvik, York minster, the castle museum.

Book the latest slot you can in the Jorvik museum. Do York minster first, get on one of the walking tours ours was incredible and by far and away the best way to see the minster. When you finish walk through the shambles to the castle museum. Do the Prison bit first if you can but onto miss the street.finish the day at the Jorvik museum.

If you are hardy souls and aren't exhausted by that point grab a bite to eat (we loved cosmo but you need to book) and finish the day with the bloody tour of York by mad Alice. It is awesome.
