Manhattan Hotels that sleep families of 5

We're planning a trip to NYC next October (2018) half term and we'd like to stay in a central hotel in a room that sleeps 5.

I've been on booking.com, which is fairly helpful (although unable to book that far in advance). Its always so tricky to find hotels that will accommodate 2 adults & 3 kids in 1 room or suite - its usually split between 2 rooms which tends to whack up the cost.

Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

New York hotel rooms are generally small so you need to look for apartment hotels. The Citadenes on 5th Ave have suites sleeping 4 and you can ask for an extra bed. It won't be cheap though.

Getting 5 in a standard NY hotel room would be almost impossible! Many barely have room for one bed let alone 5. There may be more options in the suburbs but central Manhattan is not likely to have much on offer for 5 in a room.

Try the Beacon Hotel, great location (Upper West Side on Broadway) and I think they may have rooms which are big enough.

We're a family of 5 and are going to NY in December. We did find one or two hotels in Manatten that had 5 in a suite, but it cost a fortune! So we are staying at the Doubletree in New Jersey. It's about half the cost of staying in Manatten, but you can get the train across in 15 mins for a couple of dollars.

We stayed in the London Hotel when we went in February. We had one room but was 2 rooms within it if that makes sense? There was 4 of us (Me, DH, DS1 who was 12 and DS2 who was 6). The second room was actually like a lounge with a double sofa bed but could have easily fitted another fold away bed in it cause it was huge.

We stayed at the Doubletree Hilton Suites in Times Square. We had a bedroom with 2 queen beds and a 'lounge' room with a double sofa bed.

What about an apartment/Airbnb? You will get much more space- Manhattan hotel rooms are small.
