DH and I are looking for somewhere for a week in September with our 9 month old DS. Does anyone have any advice as to which would be better with a baby? This is our first trip abroad with a little one so we'll probably be looking for an apartment or villa. Not keen on camping. thanks in advance!

Sounds to me from DMIL's holiday to Positano and Amalfi coast that it is stunning and wonderful but I have no plans to go there whilst our children live at home!!

Lake Garda, stay in Garda (look for an Airbnb). Nearest airport is Verona. Garda is quiet but enough life for a holiday with a 9 month old. You can swim in the lake or paddle at the shoreline, it's nice to promenade in the evenings and eat ice-cream or have a drink. There is a nice market on certain days of the week and you can take a boat to the other places on the lake - Malcesine is a bit further north along the shore and more touristy (if you take the cable car to the top of the mountains it's like a Milka advert.! Cows with cowbells, and an Alpine style restaurant).
