I'm going to the netherlands soon for work & will have 1 day to visit Amsterdam.

Anyone got a must-see list? I'll be travelling by public transport from The Hague so ideally things that are close together or easy to get to.

I know nothing about the area.

It's amazing! The train will take you right to the centre and then you can take the tram to anything you want to see from there. I'd take a canal boat tour of it's a nice day and then go to some of the weird and wonderful museums- The Pipe Museum, The Pianola Museum. Also, The Anne Frank museum. But buy a ticket in advance for that, unless you want to spend the whole day queueing.

Google I Amsterdam for all the info you need.

Have a great time!

Get a one day tram ticket. We found the city very was to navigate, just look out for cyclists they take no prisoners 😊.
We went to Anne frank (as mentioned above get tickets in advance). The Heineken brewery was okay. Theart museum had lots of gorgeous van Gogh paintings.

The plaza with all the museums is a short tram ride away from the train station and has the Van Gogh museum, the museum of modern art and the Rijksmuseum (I loved the Vermeers).

Controversially, I'd suggest thinking about going to Delft instead. Which is more manageable in a day and is absolutely beautiful. It's on the same train line but south instead of north from The Hague.
