So, we go on a holiday of a lifetime and lo is sick in bed for the whole duration so far with just a couple of weeks to go. Any commisserations from others this has happened to? I am so fed up. Looked forward to this for months and can´t wait to get home. : (

Yep, I can relate, wasn't realy a holidy of a lifetime but it was our first holiday abroad for a few years and DS1's first ever, Corfu, gorgeous hotel, great pool/beach, kids club galore etc. and he got bitten by a mozzie on the first day, that then got infected and he had to stay out of the water and the sun for the whole two weeks, nightmare!

Hope your LO feels better soon

We did lots of boat trips and shopping really, he wasn't feeling ill so it wasn't as though he had to be in bed or anything, it just wasn't as much fun for him as we'd hoped for really!

We are off to Kos in August, fingers crossed everything will go a bit more smoothly!

We had our dream holiday last year to Jamiaca my daughter was ill for the first week with a stomach infection and got very dehydrated she was just in bed all the time I was very frightened because she was so ill , then just as she got better 2 days before we were due to go hiome she fell and split her chin open and ended up having stiches and to top it all it rained for nearly 2 weeks

Not the holiday of a lifetime but we booked to go to Centre Parcs when DD was a few months old, thinking would be nice for 3 year old DS.

DS kept randomly falling over and wetting himself on the first day, he went through all the trousers I had taken for him before tea time. That night he started with the croup We stayed the next day but had to go home the day after that.

Hope your LO recovers soon, poor thing

We took my 73 year old parents on a long anticipated trip to a former USSR country for dad to have a look as it was one of his interests and he was losing his sight to macular degeneration. On day 2 we all went down with flu-like symptoms (we had our DSs, 4 and 6 with us), so the rest of us saw Tallinn through a fug of headache, runny noses and fatigue, but poor dad didn't get out of bed again. On the final day he staggered to his feet to go to the taxi to get the plane, and promptly collapsed- and died! He had a pulmonary embolus so that really did turn into the Holiday from Hell....
