Take the train to Soller and then the tram to Port de Soller. You can start somewhere mid-journey not only in Palma.

There are various caves which DD was fascinated when we went. One includes a little boat trip but I personally found that the most cheesy one. I can't remember their names but if you google they will come up.

La Reserva, a nature park. It is a full day out and you need a car and a picnic.

There is a safari park in Cala Millor where you drive through.

Market in Inca, big with live animals for sale

Roman ruins in Alcudia plus there is also a nice market

We went with DD when she was 2 and 4 and did all of these both times (Safari park only once)

I would recommend hiring a car, it is easy to drive in Majorca and you are a lot more flexible. Plus some things like the caves and La Reserva is not possible otherwise.
