Can you help? Late August holiday with pools and entertainment wanted

Usually am very organised and book our summer holiday in October time but have left it late this year due to moving house. There are four of us - me, husband, and children (9 and 6). I've been googling but a lot of things seem to be already sold out

This is what we're looking for:

  • Southern Europe warm (25-30 degrees). We've been considering Italy, Spain, Croatia.... Husband likes it hot, I prefer it cooler but we've already taken a UK holiday this year so it's his turn to choose the temperature
  • Preferably a mobile home/ lodge/ treehouse/ bungalow on a resort rather than a hotel
  • Good entertainment - minidisco, evening shows, fitness classes, gym etc
  • Fly from a London airport and hire a car
  • Pools with slides
  • Around £2000ish
  • 14 days (ish) anytime within 12 Aug - 5 Sept

Can you help? Any suggestions much appreciated!

I've just booked a last minute eurocamp in France £1000 for one week fir 4 people mobile home via ferry.
Not sure you will get two weeks for £2k with flights and hire car but try eurocamp, yelloh, siblu, pierre ET vacances, Thomson Al fresco, canvas holidays etc or pick a site and see if you can book direct may be cheaper.
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions 2014newme!

Have been looking at eurocamp and canvas, and you reminded me we had a great yelloh holiday a couple of years back so been browsing that too. There's some availability but I refuse to stay in a tent in Southern Europe in late August and it's proving tricky to line up the flights... France keeps coming up but I feel like we've been there many times- I want to explore the rest of Europe! I will look at the other providers you mention too - wouldn't have thought of those so much appreciated. I suspect you're right and the budget will rise once the hire car is factored in.

Seems like we can get the best deals on flights to Barcelona and Rome - any recommendations for places near to either?

Hope you enjoy your week in France!

We flew to Barcelona last year and stayed in the eurocamp at vilanova just outside sitges. Would highly recommend. My kids are a similar age to yours and they loved it.

Thanks sjp78! Had a look at this one but nothing available through eurocamp and couldn't make the other options work.

However we have now booked an Italian holiday through eurocamp! Due the late booking have had to make some compromises so it's a pretty small and basic mobile home (but it does have air conditioning - not prepared to compromise on this!), and it's almost the dates we wanted (13 nights rather than 14). The flights and accommodation together came to under £2000 and that's before using the air miles! It's got great pools and entertainment so am happy that we finally have something booked that will keep everyone happy. Am never going to leave it this late again....

Thanks both for your help, much appreciated and I'll remember these suggestions when it comes to booking our 2018 summer holiday in a few months
