Where's good for a sunny weekend break end of September?

I was thinking Spain, but wondering if the pools would be closed?

Any ideas welcomed!

Thanks.

resorts stay open till the mid/ end of October. Tourist cities like Barcelona or Rome don't really have an off season( outdoor pools still open in many places mid winter).
I go to the south of France. The smallest shops and bars may shut but plenty stay open - weather is still brilliant. Much hotter than our July /Augusts.

Ive been to Valencia at the end of september, the weather was lovely.
Barcelona will be hot as will Ibiza. Ibiza town is just lovely.

Depends what you want from your break really.

Split would be a brilliant choice . Great city with beautiful sea, history, nightlife good food and local wine . and not Euro but still in EU.
High range of accommodation from youth hostels to 5 stars. Flights with easyJet and get hotel with booking.com.

We went to Granada the first week in October last year. It was scorchio - flew into Malaga which was easy on the pocket too.

Sorrento in southern Italy

If you have only a long weekend though it doesn't matter where you go so much as where you stay.
Thinking about what you need from your weekend. I always want a balcony because I know I like a glass of wine in my own space, at some point in the day. And a pool or a short walk to the beach.
It's always good to have a hotel or apartment " next to something" I've worked out. Either an attraction or a brilliant bar or restaurant or the beach. Location is key on short breaks.

Nice in the south of France. Beautiful, and not terribly expensive... The walk along the beach is superb, and there's a lot to see.
