Whats near the Alexander Theatre in Birmingham?

Does anyone know whats around (walking distance) from the Alexander Theatre in Birmingham.

Going to watch Noddy on saturday and thought of going for some lunch before hand. So it would need to be a child friendly place. ie macdonalds, KFC, nice family pub etc.

Thanks

I don't know really how far it is from the Alex but I know that 'Old Orleans' on Broad Street is a very family friendly restaurant (you can draw on their table cloths with crayons and take them home ).

The Alex isn't too far from Broad street. (But I haven't been into Birmingham for a number of yonks, so donm;t quote me on that!)

IntergalacticWalrus · 19/03/2007 20:09

If not, there's probably something in The Mailbox.

jackieglyn · 20/03/2007 08:20

If you all like Chinese, it's just around the corner from the Chinese quarter.

Here's the tourism pages for Brum!

The Alex is very oddly situated right on a main road! See this . Old Orleans is a bit of a trek from the Alex; the Mailbox is much nearer - just the other side of the main road (Suffolk Street Queensway). There are several eateries in the Mailbox, a lot of them are a bit "grownup" but there is a Cafe Rouge - they're family-friendly.

Mailbox - Strada (Italian - taken ds in there and they were good with him...) Bar Estilo (Tapas - also friendly)....

Hi,we are at the 4.30 show as dp wont finish work until about one,so would have been a rush for 2.
No never been to anything like this before so not sure what to expect, probably lots of kid's shouting ,lol.
Hope you enjoy the show anyway!
I think that ScoobyDoo is on later in the year ,we gave dd the choice between that or Noddy as we thought as she is 5 she would be a bit old for Noddy but there was no contest.
