Aargh - booked flights to Portugal but cant find a villa! Need a new destination!

Hi all, Booked our flights when we thought we had a villa and then it fell through and of course they are not the easiest dates - Sat 8th to Tues 18th July.

Was hoping to go to Carvoeiro but having trouble finding a villa in walking distance of the town and beaches that fits 5 and you dont need to be a millionaire.

I didnt realise that on many sites when it says dates are available you then have to contact the owners and they say that they arent!

Any other suggestions of nice places we can go? We fly to Faro. It is for us and 3 children. Thanks for any help!

Look on airbnb and filter for 'instant book'.
I've had the same issue with places saying they're available and then they're not. But the instant book thing does mean that they are available now.

Tavira, East of Faro would be an option.

Agree to look at Air BnB and search using facility to book instantly. There are options on there for you.

There is a Carvoeiro villa owners page on facebook maybe worth asking if anybody has availability hope you find someplace nice.

Check out Balaia golf village. The golf thing is a red herring - it's a fabulous place. 6 pools, 3 restaurants and a shop. It's also near a beach. Would absolutely recommend.

Thanks everyone - forgot to check back! Have booked a villa for one week and am now about to look for somewhere for the extra 3 nights.

Have you thought about Spain? Costa de la luz just over the border, or Seville is only a couple of hours away from Faro airport and would be great for 3 nights, if a little hot in July.

You could try some of the letting agents in that area of the Algarve. We have also used Holiday lettings and owners direct before -but it is tricky to get availability so close. Good luck.

Carvoeiro is lovely most places are a steep walk back from town. We have holidayed in an apartment at Monte Dourado (great shared pool) with either holiday leggings or owners direct (I can't remember which) or Quinta De Paradiso looks nice and a similar walking distance. Or Vila Da Praia a private let central complex shared pool in Alvor private let same sites as mentioned above. Fantastic beach and loads of lovely restaurants to chose from, again family feel like Carvoeiro but flatter. The beauty of these are standards are high no facilities on site, sites are usually quieter children make friends and atmosphere usually much quieter and more cosmopolitan.
