Just arrived at a villa in Spain. Had a nice afternoon when another family arrived.
The company are denying receipt of our payment but we have receipts as proof.
We have agreed for both families to share for tonight.
We need.help in how to move forward with this?

"Got" not "hit", sorry.

Get your friend to call her credit card company for help, there is insurance on the payment. I don't think I'd of allowed a 2nd family to stay! What a nightmare for those 2 families

One family has to move to a new location. Unsure why they should come home. Whomever owns the villa should organise it if they have proof of payment, I still don't understand how they not only double booked the villa but gave all the entry details to your friend thinking it was the other family. Surely the names are different?

Are you sure you've got all the facts right?

I wouldn't have let the other family stay. I would have locked the doors and left them to sort it. Letting them in has caused the problem.

Most travel agents will be open tomorrow, I'd imagine. Facebook and Twitter for tonight.

Police?

Missnutter · 28/05/2017 21:31

Just to update. My friend left the villa this morning. And a neighbour to the villa offered them an apartment to stay in. (Not sure why they left and not the other family).
The owner said they will refund now (so must have received there money).
I'm sure when they get home they will look into this more but a nightmare start to a family holiday.
Thank you for your time and advice.
