Bl**dy FlyThomascook.com - I am FURIOUS , anyone know what Can I do ??

We've booked 3 flights + 1 enfant + my mum to Majorca.

We ummmed & ahhed about what time to fly, whether to go first thing or pay extra & go in the afternoon. We choose the later.

My mum booked hers later & has just had a letter saying the afternoon flight is no longer available, so they have booked her on on the 3pm flight.

I have checked on-line our flights & found they've done the same to us. Well we don't want to fly out at this time - because there is a 06:45 flight we can take.

I can not get through to anyone, am kept waiting on a 20p a minute phone line & when I make the changes on the internet, I am charged £60.

SHould we pay the £60 & try & claim it back ?

No idea about the legal situation, Mm, but there are alternative phone numbers - try 01733 335500 or 01324 565289 (what is the phone number you have been trying?)

For them to change your flight time without even informing you must be wrong

Check the small print mojo - it will tell you how many hours they can change the flight time by before it is necessary to compensate you or allow to change without charge. It used to be that they could change by up to 12 hours. I would check this before you make any change online unless you are willing to pay the amendment fee.

I have to speak to flythomascook.com.

I've rung 07802430416, 08700102373, 08705133102 & 09015760576 + a couple of others !

My mum has just called thomas cook (not .com) & changed her flight to the earlier one & is being charged £30. Apparently everyone is being charged this. I am so angry. The head office is in Peterboroough, which is too far away, otherwise I'd be banging on their door !!

I just think they've got a cheek - I know things can change, but at least have the decancy to tell me or ASK what I'd like my flight changed to. I think I might have to ask Martin Lewis - he's good with bank charges, so he might be able to tackle the airlines !

0161 489 5757 is their switchboard at Manchester airport, that's the alternative given for 08702 430416 - try that (may be a 9-5 number I suppose but worth a try)

I believe that they have to contact you to advise that the flight you had originally booked will not be travelling and then offer you an alternative ....at no extra cost. I dont think they can just move you over without offering you the choice.
They are legally bound to provide you with the service you had booked UK airport - Majorca. If there are 2 flights going on the same day they have to hold you seats on one of them or they would be in breech of contract if they left you seat less. MOst airlines will let you choose which one you want to go on ...
I would also stress that you have accom booked and you HAVE to arrive by X time or you cannot get the keys. Or you have an ongoing flight / coach transfer . ( even if you haven't!)

Yipppeee ! have changed the flights to early morning & just had my £77 refunded AND got my mums changed. Apparently there shouldn't have been a charge.

Cross it took such alot of effort & stress, but all resolved now, so can just look forward to our hols...and the 3am start that day.
