Is it ok to go to Eurodisney with DS but leave DD at home?

My DH & I would like to take DS (6 years old) to Disneyland Paris in October but can't decide whether to take DD who will be 17 months. We could leave her with my DM although neither of us like the idea of leaving her for 4 nights. On the other hand I'm not sure how much we'll be able to enjoy it whilst dealing with a 17 month old. Some people have said to me that we should leave her & others have said that we should wait another year and then take her. But I'm not convinced that'll be any easier when she's 2 1/2. We've obviously got no idea how she'll cope with the trip so I guess the question is whether we want to take the risk. I'd really appreciate some more views & opinions please because we just can't decide what to do!

I think take her. She'd be fretting left that long and you'd never relax and enjoy yourself. We took our daughter to Paris at 17 months and actually, she was far less hassle than you'd imagine.

Why not leave it until she is 3 and your DS is about 8?

That way, both will enjoy it and in years to come your daughter won't be peeved off that you took him and not her. Kids can be like that and it may just upset her to the point of 'you treat him but not me in the same way'.

Just trying to foresee issues when they become teens!!!

And personally I would feel guilty no matter what her age! I would always treat both children the same no matter what.

But that is how I am.

I would take her or wait another year. I can't imagine leaving a child behind.

I took LO to Disney World at 2.5y we went at their pace so see the fireworks and have a long lie the next morning or go to the pool. Lots of rides don't have a height restrictions.
When we wanted to do the big rides we used "Parent pass", so one parent waits in the que and rides as normal - then they take the LO and the other parent gets to use the fast-pass que. With an older child they get to ride twice.

We went to Disneyland Paris when dd was 19/20 months and she loved it.
