Eating out near Leeds Bradford Airport

We are flying to Turkey on Bank Holiday Monday from Leeds Bradford Airport.

We are wanting to eat out before checking in at the airport and have found Hawthorn Farm pub practically on the airport's doorstep.

Can anyone tell me if it is a decent pub where you can get served early and quickly?

We need to eat between 11am and 12:30pm as we have a mid-afternoon departure.

It's part of the Farmhouse Inns chain. They have a carvery and standard menu too.

I've never been but if you google farmhouse inns and look at google images, you can see photos of the food on offer. TBH it doesn't look very appetising and their USP is enormous slices of cake.

I would expect that the food will come reasonably quickly and be average at best, ie similar standard to Brewer's Fayre etc. You will get a meal, but I wouldn't expect a gourmet dining experience.

The Chevin Inn isn't too far away and will be much nicer. There's also a Turkish restaurant and a couple of nice cafes in Rawdon but you would need to check that they are open on BH Monday, or even Morrisons cafe in Yeadon, or there's Murgatroyds Fish and Chip restaurant and an American diner place between the airport and Rawdon on a cross roads. I'd pick all of those over Hawthorn Farm, but that's just me.

Thanks!

I do love a good carvery though!

Yes we ate there before flying out of Leeds Bradford it is your standard chain pub with carvery and a wide selection on the menu from burgers, steak, chicken, salad, curry, pie, etc. Its full of kids and nothing special but nice enough.

If you like fish and chips OH says that Murgatroyds does the best fish and chips ever.
