Where abouts are you staying ? It's a very big place. I live there so happy to make a few suggestions.

There are a few outdooor swimming pools if you Google.

Greystoke. Lazonby. Shap and askham all have great outdoor pools. All will be open by this weekend coming.
There's energi trampoline park at Carlisle.
Ullswater has a place that does paddle boarding. Rookin house near Penrith has plenty of outdoor pursuits. E.g. Quad biking or zorbing etc. Lockerbie has an ice rink. In Scotland obviously but not too far away. Keswick has a climbing wall. And there's a place called clip and climb in west Cumbria.

There is a leisure Centre in Carlisle, a reasonable amount of shops...

What sort of thing do they like doing?

You'll need to book the trampoline park as gets busy. Could you get the train to Glasgow or Newcastle as plenty to do there.
Shopping is ok in Carlisle.
There's Tullie house museum or Carlisle castle.
Dry ski slope also there. And Bitts park is ok.
