Recommendations for December Destination All Inclusive Please!

Thinking of going away for a week just after Christmas. 3adults and 3 DCs aged 9 and 11.

Don't want to do long haul because of jet lag.

Looking for a warm/hot place.

Canaries?
Cape Verde?

Tenerife was still about 26 degrees when I went in the winter. Lovely bright sunshine and only one hour of drizzly rain for the whole week. Costa Adeje is a lovely resort in the south with a beautiful sandy beach and lots of nice restaurants.

Can I ask which hotel you stayed at?

I stayed in the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel (think that's what it was called anyway) and it was about a 10 min walk max to the beach down a hill. Would definitely recommend it and it's not overly expensive to stay there either. I'd also recommend going to the Loro Parque zoo with the kids. It's huge and they have everything from white tigers to dolphins.

If you end up going to the Canaries if possible, with school etc, make sure you stay until at least 6 January, because the evening of the 5th Jan is the day of the Three Kings Parade where the three kings lead a procession through the streets on camels and throw sweets into the crowd.

We saw it in Los Cristianos Tenerife a few years ago and even without DCs it was great. It was also hot and sunny all week and we were swimming in the sea. However, we've also been to Lanzarote in February and December in different years and the sea was colder and weather was OK but not brilliant.
